    On April 23, 2024, INTCO Medical released its 2024 Environmental, Social, and Governance Report, marking the fourth consecutive year of ESG disclosure.     Our Sustainable Development Footprint

     

    Environmental

    INTCO Medical has made steady progress in resource conservation and low-carbon operations. In 2024, carbon emissions per glove were reduced to 20.41 grams, a 20.70% decrease from the previous year. Water consumption per glove dropped to 0.21 liters, down 11.02% year-on-year. Total photovoltaic power generation reached 3,538,596.60 kWh. Carbon emissions from rehabilitation and therapy product operations were limited to 5,800 metric tons of CO₂ equivalent.

     

    Social

    The company employed a global workforce of 10,982 people and invested ¥398 million in R&D. Women accounted for 60.23% of the workforce and 33.60% of management roles. Our employee training system remained robust, with an average of 36.02 training hours per employee and a 100% training coverage rate.

     

    Governance

    INTCO Medical continues to refine its governance structure, enhancing transparency and professionalism. Independent directors accounted for 42.86% of the board, as did female directors. We held five risk control training sessions throughout the year and conducted cybersecurity and information security training for 1,898 employees.

    In 2024, INTCO Medical received multiple authoritative ratings and awards in ESG, reflecting strong market recognition of our comprehensive performance. We received an “A” rating from Wind and a “BBB” rating from MSCI, along with the EcoVadis “COMMITTED” badge. We also passed WRAP and BSCI certifications.

     

    The company won 16 ESG-related awards throughout the year, including the “Yinshi Award” ESG Outstanding Performance Award and ESG “Golden Dawn Award” further affirming our commitment and excellence in sustainable development.

     

    Pioneer in Innovation

    INTCO Medical regards technological innovation as a key driver of development and adheres to the goal of “Meet human health needs by the achievement of human wisdom.” In 2024, we strengthened our R&D capabilities and quality management systems to ensure the delivery of safe, high-quality products and services.

     

    By year-end, INTCO had 1,909 R&D personnel, representing 10.95% of the total workforce, and invested RMB 397 million in R&D. We maintained 55 new products on the market—an increase of 197% over 2023—and expanded into five new application areas: food processing, retail, pharmaceutical labs, clean electronics, and e-commerce. We filed 43 patent applications, obtained 33 new patents, and held 282 cumulative patent authorizations.

     

    Leader in Environmental Stewardship

    Green development remains a cornerstone of high-quality growth. In response to China’s “dual carbon” strategy, INTCO Medical adheres to the philosophy of “environmental protection, health, safety, energy-saving, and lean management.” We continue to innovate in green technologies, enhance climate resilience, and promote eco-friendly operations.

     

    In 2024, both wastewater and air emissions met 100% compliance standards. At our Huaibei production base in Anhui, we initiated wind power infrastructure construction, with the turbines expected to go online in 2025—marking a significant step in our clean energy development.

     

    In packaging, we shifted from full-sheet to dual-piece designs, saving approximately 80% of paper. Over 11.1 million product units used FSC-certified packaging, a 77.73% increase from 2023.

     

    Practitioner of Responsible Procurement

    INTCO Medical prioritizes the stability and sustainability of its supply chain, maintaining a dynamic supplier management system with strict assessments and compliance standards. We promote responsible procurement practices by enhancing supplier social and environmental accountability.

     

    By the end of 2024, INTCO had 3,900 Grade A suppliers, 90 Grade B suppliers, and 9 Grade C suppliers. We upgraded our Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) system and implemented the “Procurement Strategy Development and Management Process.” Throughout the year, we conducted 198 supply chain training sessions with participation from 1,800 suppliers, and hosted 268 technical seminars attended by 780 suppliers.

     

    Guardian of Health and Well-being

    INTCO Medical is dedicated to enhancing healthcare equity and accessibility. We develop diversified rehabilitation devices and actively engage in public welfare initiatives to improve the lives of disadvantaged groups. Guided by the core values of “Love, Kindness, Truth,” we co-founded the Shanghai INTCO Charity Foundation in 2020 with INTCO Recycling, and have been committed to long-term public service ever since.

     

    By the end of 2024, our annual production capacity reached 1 million manual wheelchairs and 40,000 electric wheelchairs. During the year, we donated ¥2.82 million to various causes including poverty alleviation, community development, education, and disaster relief—making tangible contributions to social sustainability.

     

    Advocate of People-Centric Development

    INTCO Medical values its employees as the company’s greatest asset. We are committed to building a diverse, inclusive, and respectful workplace while improving compensation, benefits, career paths, and occupational health and safety systems.

    As of 2024, we employed 10,982 formal staff members, including 6,614 women (60.23%), 162 ethnic minorities, and 120 individuals with disabilities. Women held 33.6% of all management roles (including junior, middle, and senior positions), and 22.7% of senior executive roles. We had 228 female employees in STEM-related roles and 35.3% of revenue-generating leadership roles were held by women.

     

    Through competitive hiring and performance-based advancement, we refined our career development system and built a digitalized HR management platform. Each base organized at least one team-building activity per month to foster engagement and unity.

     

    Champion of Sound Governance

    INTCO Medical is committed to strengthening corporate governance, optimizing our “Three Meetings and One Layer” structure, safeguarding shareholder rights, and ensuring integrity, efficiency, and steady growth.

     

    In 2024, we held five shareholders’ meetings to review 19 proposals, nine board meetings for 33 proposals, and ten committee meetings to review 23 proposals. We emphasized investor relations with two earnings briefings, 30 brokerage strategy sessions, 112 one-on-one investor roadshows, and over 1,150 investor calls.

     

    We uphold a zero-tolerance policy toward bribery and corruption, reinforcing ethical standards and internal risk control. We held five training sessions on business ethics and anti-corruption, with over 1,000 participants. To strengthen risk management, we offered diversified training programs and conducted seven cybersecurity training sessions for 1,898 employees, totaling 34.5 hours, with an average of 4.9 hours per person.
